Weekly Wildflower Walks

Where The Wildflowers are the Destination

Often, after walking and looking at flowers, learning their many names, stories, and relationships to each other, to us and to the world around us for two and-a-half hours, we are no more than a 20-25 minute walk back to our vehicles. Yet, we may have covered more than 50 species of Plants along the way.

These weekly walks are slow and intentional with many stops along the way to look at, photograph, and learn about the beautiful diversity of Plants and Wildflowers in Southern Appalachia while also enjoying beautiful views and waterfalls, and other special places

Weekly Wildflower Walks held March Through November

Wildflower Walks are held every Friday morning from 9am to 12pm, and again from 1pm to 4pm. We meet at a different location each week, depending on what is blooming where, and when. Every season is different in the timing and duration of blooming flowers, the study of which is called phenology. Weekly locations subject to change. Check the calendar here.
